We are all about comfort at The Dose of Reality.

We prefer tennis shoes to high heels. (We don’t even own anything higher than a kitten heel.) We are clad in yoga pants at every acceptable opportunity (and frankly, many times when it’s only semi-acceptable). We proudly wear granny panties instead of thongs. (Life is too short to go through life with a permanent wedgie, people.)

So when we got together for our most recent Very Important Blog Meeting, it was not surprising to find that we both arrived at my kitchen table wearing ensembles that were picked for function over form.

Lisa: Wait a minute. Are you wearing socks with your cute sandals?

Ashley: Of course I am.

Lisa: O…kay. Is there a reason or is this a new trend you’re starting?

Ashley: It’s my period and my feet get cold. I cannot concentrate on blog work if my feet are chilly. But still, I had to wear my sandals.

Lisa: Well there you go. Hey, it’s my period, too!

Ashley: Duh, you’re wearing your Alexander Skarsgård t-shirt. That’s a dead giveaway.

Lisa: Yep, it’s *so* cozy. I need to be surrounded by gentle fabrics (and enormous Swedes) when I am moody.

With the chit-chat out of the way, we got down to the first order of business on our meeting agenda-deciding what TV series we were going to binge watch together over the summer. (The only thing that makes us feel better than warm feet, elastic waisted pants, and ASkars is watching hours and hours of TV.) This is totally legit blog business and not a matter to be taken lightly. We only get one summer a year to catch up on all the TV we normally miss. We have to make it count.

We came up with several options…

• The Americans because Ashley has had a special affinity for Keri Russell ever since she tried to give herself a spiral perm in the late 1990s.
• House of Cards because Kevin Spacey is a national treasure.
• Orange Is the New Black because it’s edgy. We are nothing if not edgy, right?

It was a really hard decision. ALL television sounds like a good idea when you are wearing socks with sandals and enveloped in the 100% cotton likeness of a Viking. We debated as only two menstrual woman can…with great passion while eating M&Ms straight out of the bag.

In the end we decided on Breaking Bad because it’s embarrassing to be the only two women in the continental US who haven’t seen it yet. We were *this* close to choosing Downton Abbey for the same reason, but Breaking Bad has more seasons available for streaming.
