Christmas is making us crazy over here y’all! Raise your hand if the holiday season is weighing you down…and we don’t just mean because of all the yummy Christmas cookies you have been making thanks to Pinterest!
It seems like there is just so much stuff to do at this time of year. Between the gift buying and the house decorating, we start out broke and tired. When you throw in school holiday parties and dance recitals, we feel ourselves going over the edge into crazytown. Forget throwing an unexpected illness into the mix, because that is just a recipe for why mommy rocks in the corner crying all day!
So, we had grand plans of blog work all week and part of next week, where we would then treat ourselves to blog holiday break…check out of social media and really just focus on time with our families. We all know how relaxing long school breaks are for moms, right?
But then, well, life happened. And we discovered that if we actually planned to sleep on Christmas Eve and not find ourselves combing the aisles of the local Walgreen’s for Christmas gifts for the whole family (really, though, who can’t use a new comb and some Jujubes), we needed to actually use our very limited remaining free time wisely.
So if you need us, we are knee deep in the dollar bin at Target grabbing all remaining batteries and rolls of tape. Once we finish there, we will be heading over to Justice to relive our 80’s youth and attempt to find our preteen girls a few sweaters in any shade other than day-glo green. Good luck on that front, are we right?!
In the meantime, since we know everyone currently reading this has a to-do list a mile long, we are just going to share a few of our favorite holiday posts from the past couple years in one spot. Read them at your leisure (HA!) or when you need a break from all the holiday visitors (more likely!). We are all in this together. And boy does it take a village, especially during the holidays!
That Time I Accidentally Told My Kids Santa Is A Jackass
A real lesson in making sure you have your story BEFORE your kids question you!
Dear Santa, Please Make My Kids Smile On Command Just Once
Kids really just know how to put the cheer in holiday cheer, don’t they?!
The Worst Christmas Display You Will Ever See
Try explaining that choice of Christmas decorating every day on the way to school!
So, there you have it, folks. Our version of a Christmas season wrap-up. Now, everyone, back to your regularly, scheduled programming, i.e. teacher gifts, grocery shopping trips, and figuring out where you hid that gift you bought last April when it was dirt cheap and your couldn’t pass up the savings!
Happy Holidays Dose Peeps!
We will see you all back here on January, 5th, 2015 right after we send our children back to school and pour ourselves the first cup of actually hot coffee we will have had in 2.5 weeks!
Yup same here and definitely just a bit stressed from Christmas planning and all. Am planning on taking most of next week and part of the following week off just to get my bearings. So love how you shared some of your best Christmas posts. Perfect idea 😉
Love your holiday cheer from the past. Good luck grabbing the goodies at Target And in case the season doesn’t feel crazy enough here are some suggestions:

I don’t bake for Christmas, but I do have this really awesome thing I do where I wait for the last possible minute to decorate and shop for gifts even though the money is already put aside for Christmas. So that means I’m going to be doing some power shopping this week and I’ll still probably stick with my tradition of wrapping gifts as people are arriving for dinner.
Dose Girls! How are you not ordering batteries and duct tape from Amazon? Seriously. Just order the stuff and relax in the comfort of your yoga pants (or PJs) as you wait for the hunky Amazon delivery guy to arrive at your doorstep.
Seriously, my Amazon guy is a blue eyed muscle bound hunk.
You need Sharpie Day ladies. It will rock your Christmas.
Enjoy the break. I’m still running around a bit too. And the gingerbread house I tried to make totally collapsed. Oops.
Careening into serious meltdown mode here! I got a LIST of transgressions from the babysitter last night and I am mortified just thinking about the next time I have to face her. And since two of my kids no longer believe in Santa, I may have told them that it would be *me* who refuses to buy them presents because of their behavior!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and yours as well. It’s making me nuts too. Really like the wide in the waist skinny in the wallet bit - too true!
So yesterday I drove by a house where Santa was driving a toilet and all of the elves were perched on his back while he did so! Best display ever
Happy holidays, ladies! “See” you next year
Ladies - hope this makes y’all feel better - I haven’t even started my Christmas shopping!
Enjoy the break! Here’s hoping for fatter bank accounts than last year?!
They are swtill funny. Like the picture of Bobby strangling Lucy with the candy cane. I also hope you have enough money to pay off Santa this year.
Hahahaha! The Santa is a jackass post is fantastic! I do have a to-do list a mile long and I will probably be trollin’ Walgreens on Christmas Eve looking for forgotten stocking stuffers. So yes, Christmas makes me crazy!
Just cut the kiddos off on their Santa lists this morning. STOP ADDING, BELOVED CHILDREN! SANTA NEEDS TIME TO MAKE THAT SH**, I mean, STUFF! Have a wonderful break. I’m still trying to recover from my daughter’s 8th birthday party on Friday. Because what mom doesn’t want a December birthday on top of the dance recitals, school parties, teacher gifts, family gifts, Christmas cards, etc.
Christmas makes me crazy. I don’t bake cookies anymore because I am usually the one that eats the majority of them! Have a wonderful Christmas ladies!
Sounds like you could do with a little cookie tossing yourselves. Ok - don the helmets and mouth guards. Ready? I’m scooping my hands into heap of cookies, right arm back and wiiiiinggggggggggggggggggg. Did you get ’em? Enjoy!
Happy Holidays, ladies!
Oh, I can’t stand those blow-up characters on people’s roofs and lawns. I can’t stand crowds either (okay, unless I’m in the city), or feeling pressured to buy gifts when we really can’t afford to! Good luck getting through the next two weeks and hope you enjoy a bit of it!
Oh, I’m right there with you on feeling crazy - the past couple weeks almost did me in with all of the parties at our venue. Thankfully I finished most of my shopping over the weekend (love Amazon Prime!!) and that is helping me this week.
I was actually looking around Walgreens last week, they have quite a bit. I highly recommend the hello kitty night lite/pillow.
Yup, it’s making me a bit crazy. It always does. I’m learning to chill out and not fill every day with something insanely Christmasy. The kids met Santa. They saw lights. Scarlet saw The Nutcracker. She’s going to NYC.
Des is two. He doesn’t know what day it is.
We’re doing ok.
Loved the cartoons! Hope you survive the Holiday season!
I use to stress about Christmas but this year I am actually calm….maybe it’s because my kids have everything and I don’t really have to buy stuff. Have a great holiday break.
I was just pulling into the Target parking lot when the school nurse called for me to pick up my sick child. Let the holiday crazy begin!!!
Good luck to you both and your families. I hope we all survive and meet back here on the 5th
Hope you ladies have a fantastic Christmas and New Year! We’ll be looking forward to seeing you on the other side of the ball drop!
That photo shoot is too cute!! They’re such good sports.
Sleeping on Christmas Eve…..does that mean we get to sleep the entire day? I suppose I’m lucky and should be excited our families split the holiday so his half is Christmas Eve and my half is Christmas day….but I’m kinda instead just wondering if maybe I could sleep? No? No sleep in my stocking?
Merry Christmas lovlies!!
Merry Christmas!!
I hope you have a wonderful holiday!
Hope you had an awesome holiday and see you back soon! (PS I love your FB page!)
