We’re Moving On Up!

Summer is officially here at The Dose of Reality, and we survived all the pomp and circumstance at the two special “Moving Up” ceremonies we attended for our children!

Thanks to Lisa remembering the purse pack of Kleenex, we didn’t even ruin our mascara during the emotional moments of the events. Phew.

We thought we would share some pictures with you all today, so you know that we did at the last minute manage to cobble together appropriate clothing choices. Although, we only allowed ourselves to be photographed from the neck up, which leaves you to wonder if we did in fact go with some drop crotch pants!

  1. I love it when bloggers share personal photos-especially when they’re so cute! Congratulations to your students who have moved up! My daughter’s day is not until the 25th-they run late around here! It’s kind of bittersweet isn’t it? Getting older and more mature is exciting, but yet you miss those baby days. Well, maybe not the lack of sleep, cleaning diapers part, but…

  2. I love to see the personal side of bloggers. thanks for opening up your doors to share these precious, intimate moments with the rest of the blogosphere. It puts a face to the blog

  3. You have lovely families!
We have a “graduation” ceremony tomorrow for my oldest tomorrow. I have already packed the tissues, but I’ll probably need more. I can’t believe my baby will be a middle schooler next year! Sigh. And my youngest is starting preschool in the fall. What a year!

  4. Uh huh. Only posting headshots because you don’t want us to see ‘dem MC Hammer pants? If not now, then when will ya’ll do the big fashion reveal?

  5. Aw, these are big things! Our big stuff is next week, after I attend BlogU and openly weep that you two aren’t there.
Big summertime for us all! Nearly.

  6. Kids grow up too fast! Congrats to those “moving up” in your households. My oldest is going into 7th grade next year, and that means youth group at our church! Wowzers! My middle kid turned 10 in April and my youngest will be in preschool next year! Say what!?!!? Where does time go?!?! So proud of them, so happy for them, and yet so very sad for me in a way, you know? Pass them Kleenex please, ladies! I think this momma is gonna need them soon! :)

  7. Such an exciting time for y’all and especially your kiddos!!! I think everyone looks amazing - love the bow tie and the chevron dress.
And, I love that your kids seem to be friends, too!!

  8. Y’all are so sweet! And we will let you all just wonder about the magic of the drop crotch pants…and whether we were in fact wearing them! 😉

  9. Drop crotch pants! Oh my - such a vision. Clever you to not post an actual pic of them so we can all just conjure up our own special versions of said vision…
When my two were still little I was walking by the school gym and heard the commotion for the grade 7’s “leaving ceremony.” Popped in to take a peek. Barely knew any of the kids as they were all a great deal older than mine but found myself tearing up within seconds. Full on weeping during the power point. Made sure I had a crate of kleenex on hand six years later …

  10. LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!! Congrats to all four fabulous kiddos!!! Such beautiful pics!!

I swear you two look like sisters!!! And I am actually picturing those plastic-like parachute sweat suits from the 80’s on you gals. I bet you still have them like I do!!! Neh- you’re soooo much classier than that!! (Drop crotch anyone?)
