Some days you just can’t win.
While at your annual skin cancer screening, your dermatologist asks if you are “finally ready to do something about all of those spider veins”.
Your 3rd grader asks you the difference between the mean, median, and mode, but you can’t answer until you discretely use your smart phone to Google their definitions.
You spy a haggard woman across the escalator and secretly feel glad that you aren’t the worst dressed person at Dillard’s, only to realize you were looking at a mirrored panel.
Your teenager asks if “that smell” is what you are having for dinner.
Life can be brutal. It can really take a toll on your self-esteem and optimism.
What can you do when you need a little pep talk? There *is* one person you can always count on to tell you you’re beautiful and smart, but lately your mom doesn’t answer the phone because 60 is the new 40 and she’s at hot yoga. You are just S.O.L.
Unless you follow us on Pinterest…
Pinterest Nightmare #446: Cheers to You!
This audio experience contains 8 different tracks of applause and adoring words to raise your self-esteem while the simulated clapping and cheering of over 30,000 people plays in the background!! It’s Cheers to You!-your own applause track!!!
A mere $24.95 will get you over 15 minutes of classic affirmative words of praise and encouragement like “Great Job!” (track #2), “Success Is Yours!” (track #5), and “Hooray for You!” (track #8).
Can you imagine what it would feel like to hear 30,000 people clapping while a narrator with the smooth vocal tones of a slightly more nasal Sponge Bob Square Pants gives a variety of reasons for your greatness?
Well, you don’t have to imagine if you click the video below! (It doesn’t look blurry once you press play….and you are going to want to watch the entire thing to get the full effect. Trust me.)
Did you catch the part of the commercial that states:
We guarantee you’ll feel better about yourself and your life after listening, or we’ll give you your money back!
You know, IT REALLY WORKS! I actually *did* feel much better about myself and my life after watching that guy in the commercial! A lot better!!
My birthday is next week and I could really use the gift of encouragement and confidence as I hit the back side of my 40s. I could pop Cheers to You! in my minivan for a particularly spirited drive to carpool. I could listen to slightly more than 15 minutes of kudos while writing blog posts. I bet I could even upload “Weeee Believe in Yoooooouu!” (track #3) to my cellphone and use it for a ringtone. The sky is the limit when you are filled with self-esteem!
With Cheers to You! you can find out it feels like to be a winner! If you’re buying this CD, you probably haven’t had that experience before!
Oh, Pinterest. No…just no
I can’t imagine how awesome this would be to listen to on a long run! This is exactly what I’ve been looking for - my own personal cheering crowd to listen to as the miles fly by!!! Too bad it’s only in CD form. Maybe I can find my disc man from 1989. Hmmmm.
If I am lucky enough to be gifted with this piece of audio dynamite for my birthday, I will figure out a way to share it with you in digital form, Allie. Where there is a will, there is a way. You *need* this in your life…especially when you are running those hills. I BELIEVE IN YOOOOOOOOUUUU!!!!
LOL at the escalator thing! I have so done that. 3rd grade math homework scares the pants off of me!
Why do they make those mirrored panels by escalators? It’s just cruel! 😀 I remember being SO EXCITED when I had fulfilled my math requirement in college because the nightmare of math was finally over! Little did I know…
It totally made me feel better about my life and thanked god I wasn’t that guy who had to record his voice for all the world to make fun of! Seriously, ladies I had a long night last night and this was just what I needed. Thanks and Happy Friday 🙂
It’s always the right time to have your self-esteem and optimism boosted, isn’t it Janine? Have a great weekend! 😀
‘I’m good enough. I’m smart enough. And, gosh darn it, people like me!’ I sure hope that’s part of this track!
If its’ not, it should be. Once can never have enough Stuart Smalley. NEVER!!
I can’t believe:
1. that this exists
2. that they found someone willing to be in that commercial and show their face
3. that I don’t own this already!
Just kidding on that last one. I feel much better about myself for having watched that commercial, too.
Bwahahaha!
I am SO WITH YOU on #3…which is why I am keeping all my crossables crossed that someone loves me enough to gift me with this audio magic for my birthday. ARE YOU LISTENING, ASHLEY??
“If you’re buying this CD, you probably haven’t had that experience before!”
Bwahahahaha!
I need to order several of these TJ hand out as birthday gifts…
It really makes the perfect birthday or hostess gift. Who wouldn’t appreciate the gift of self-esteem and confidence? (and rock hard abs from all of the laughing) Win-win!
First, you and your students are lucky you have a smartphone in class. I remember if I asked a teacher something they couldn’t think of they just acted indignant and said, “Guess you have to read the whole chapter again” or “Why yes, God does exist and he’s sending you to the principles office.” (I hated Catholic grade school.)
I really, really want that CD. Tony Robbins just isn’t enough for me!
Those nuns really knew how to throw it right back to you, didn’t they! 😀
Sadly, I am not a teacher who doesn’t know her math. This happened with my own daughter at our kitchen table. I am just an inept mother. Whew!
I need this epic CD in my life Scott!
Two things came to mind when I saw this. The episode of Friends where Chandler thought he was listening to a subliminal tape as he slept to help him quit smoke but it was saying things like “your a strong confident woman.’ So he started acting very feminine but confident of course! And Stuart Smally. The old SNL skit where he is looking in a mirror sayin, ‘You’re strong enough. You’re smart enough and doggone it, people like you!’
Oh, I’d forgotten about that Friends episode! YES!! Who knows what will happen if I listen to this CD every day?! I bet I will be walking a little taller and pumping my fists randomly. EXCELLENT!
Hooray For You. Ha! My daughter would probably like this. She’s a little…pleased with herself a lot of the time.
I WOULD like to do something about my spider veins. They are scary. But I doubt I could afford it. Oh well. Spider veins remain.
My spider veins are going nowhere, Amber (except perhaps to fan out in even more exciting format.) My dermatologist is going to have to put her kids though college on someone else’s back. 😀
$24.95!! And Cassidy’s birthday is Sunday! Crap. I won’t get it in time.
This is fantastically awful. I feel like if I wanted cheers, I’d just maybe ask family and friends to do this for me? I guess? The guy in the commercial did make me feel better about myself..
SEE!! IT DOES REALLY WORK!!
Maybe they have it on iTunes. I will keep my fingers crossed you can figure out a way to get this gem to Cassidy. It would be fun and helpful for the whole family! HOORAY FOR YOOOOOOOOOU!!
I need that CD. I need it! Where can I get one?
http://thegoodcheercompany.com/
You’re welcome, Heather! 😀
Hilarious! Thanks, but no thanks! Hooooray for yoooou! That just might stick in my head all day.
Me too, Michelle, and THANK GOODNESS!! I’ll be hearing “Hoooooray for yooooooou” as I wash, rinse, and repeat in the shower and when I put the toilet paper in my grocery cart today. YAY!!!
Mean, Median, Mode. You talking ’bout apple pie a-la-Mode. Right?
Bwahahahaha! YES! That is my favorite mode for sure!!
Well…you could’ve given us a worse one 😉 Hoooooooooray for yooooou!
Exactly, Teri!! IT IS THE MOST AWESOME THING I’VE EVER SEEN. I want a copy so badly. SO BADLY.
I think this is pretty funny. Not worth $24.95 but still funny.
You are so right, Bill. It is worth SO MUCH MORE. It would be a bargain at twice the price.
Can’t imagine listening to that! I think it would annoy me instead of cheer me up!
I can only imagine being annoyed if I can’t figure out how to keep it on permanent repeat in my CD player! 😀
Wow. They brought the awesome and then added the sauce. I’ve got my stocking stuffers for xmas. My family will be so pleased. Can I get a what-what! I can! Just press play.
Whoo Hoo!! Could there be a better stocking stuffer?! No, there could not! Zoe will be THRILLED. YOOOOOU CAN DOOOOOOOO IT!!! 😀
Happy Birthday! Thank you for sending this. I feel like my life is so much better now, because I am not the loser in that commercial.
Ringtone idea is very good, you really should market those, you’ll make a million.
If I waver in my ability to get my ringtone company off the ground, I can always pop in the CD for a shot of self confidence! Weeeee Believeeeeee in Yoooooooou! My life is changed forever!
“HOORAY!!! FOR YOU!!!!” I will have the visual of that dude bright eyed and smiling and hands in the air listening to this hilarity pretending he is officially out of his dark depression.
OHMYGOSH NO!!!! And as always, your lead in to this was BRILLIANT!!!! Not sure what if more funny actually- that image you gasped at on the escalator or the chance to pay for encouragement from thousands of fans that don’t know you.
Hmm… !!!!!!
And ps: You and me girl… backside of 40 TOGETHER!!!!
Isn’t that man just glorious?! He is very enthusiastic…and we know why! His self-esteem is through the roof!!
I am pretty sure I would be unstoppable with 30,000 people cheering me on throughout my day. YOOOOOU CAN DOOOOOOOO IT! And just like that, another successful Target run is completed! Woot!
I’ve been paying my kids $1 for every five extra chores they do, so I could loan them to you for $.20 apiece. They’re great cheerers, too.
YES!!! I can write my own affirmative statements for them to say so it’s like the CD, but personalized! I could even give them a cowbell to clang if I need a real pick-me-up…or a vuvuzela!! DONE!!!
I don’t think those puzzle pieces even fit together.
Bwahahahaha. THEY DON’T!! I noticed that, too, Jenn! That seems like a pretty bleak statement to make about this puzzle we call life.
Well now I know what I’m getting my sister for her birthday! Thank you both so much for always giving me something to look forward to each Friday! xo
She is one lucky girl, Kathy. One motivated and uplifted, lucky girl! 😀
I think every teacher on the planet should have one of these CDs. Then, when a student is done giving a speech or did great on a test or what not, they could just pop in the CD and play them something! It would be way better than a gold star! Totally brilliant! 🙂 Aside from that…I’m wondering if the guy who came up with this idea was related to Napoleon. 😀 Just sayin’…
Bwahahahahaha. YES!! And we should have a CD on hand for when the kids finish their homework…or heck…when we finish washing the dishes and making all the lunches. This is going to be the new soundtrack of my life.
Applause! Applause! ;P Thank you for that pick up ladies
And we are giving you cheers right back, Jill!! WE BELIEVE IN YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOU!!!
Ok the main reason I did not pursue my dream of becoming a singer was my massive fear of exactly what is on this CD.. Soooo if their goal was to make me have a massive panic attack it would work..
Well, shoot! I know the makers of Cheers to You would be devastated to hear this. They are all about making you feel empowered, not panicked! They will be sending you cheers (very, very quiet cheers)
Now THIS I could get on board with! haha
Me too, Amanda! I think it is awesome and can’t wait to blast it from my car at every opportunity! You made that right on red perfectly…WE CELEBRATE YOOOOOOOOU!!! 😀
I feel like a winner after READING these affirmations, hearing them with a crowd of 30,000 people must be like a day at the spa or a phone call from Eddie Vedder telling me I’m just the most!
YES!! Can you imagine the thrill of being cheered on by a crowd the size of a medium sized stadium?! It would be near Eddie Vedder like excitement! 😀
Without you Dose Girls, the puzzle would definitely be incomplete. Adding to the applause on the CD now! You are the best! And now I’m off to conquer the world…
You go and conquer the world, Jennifer!! WE CELEBRATE YOOOOOOOUUU!
Ugh. I get the ‘smell’ question about dinner almost daily. Just saying.
I am glad I’m not the only one, Marcia! Cheers to You will have us feeling appreciated in no time!
Omg this is hilarious, and I almost want to have it just to I can put it on my iPhone and randomly play it on speaker to see people’s reactions LOL
Oh, I plan to do *exactly* that. I will play it with the windows down at a stop sign…at carpool line…the sky’s the limit!
Send me your address - you know what you are getting for your birthday!!!
Like you, I feel much better about myself after watching that dork (oops - that was rude but….).
And, run away from the dermatologist -don’t do anything about the spider veins. Trust me on this - learn from my mistake - I’ve paid for my decision to take care of my veins for almost a year - embrace those spider veins!!!
I have read your posts about your vein troubles VERY intently. Your experiences have definitely changed my thinking about them!
THANK YOOOOOOOOOUUUUUU for the advice!! 😀
BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAH I am dying over here. At first I thought you’d lost it for a minute. I was sitting here, about to tell you I’d nominated you for the Liebster Award, and then immediately regretting it, thinking I had just led my readers to a cracked-out woman with a keyboard.
No but really - you’re one of my favorite blogs and I’m so glad I found you. Thank you for cracking me up and making me smile even on my worst days. I am thankful for you!
Thank you so much, Jen! We are thankful for you, too!! (and we totally are cracked out women with keyboards) 😀
I’m gonna take a crack at the mean, median, and mode question WITHOUT GOOGLING.
Mean: The average in a set of numbers
Median: The exact halfway point in a set of numbers
Mode: The most commonly occurring in a set of numbers
Right? Wrong? I’m pulling this out of my ass.
You nailed it!! (at least I think so. I still can’t keep them straight.)
This is something I need though I might have to get this so everytime I do something good I can get an applause lol My daughters birthday is next week also we are celebrating this week. Happy early birthday
I think we could all benefit from our own personal applause track! I can feel my self-esteem rising just thinking about it! I CAN DOOOOOOO IT!!!
hahaha.. this is great! Usually Pinterest just makes me feel like crap about myself as I pin all the things I know I will NEVER have time to do!!
Exactly, Lauren. We like the side of Pinterest that makes us feel better about ourselves. Our “Oh, Honey…NO!” board is for you!! You can’t look at a single pin without thinking, “I’m really not doing so badly after all!”
I’m terrified that one day my make believe children are going to stump the hell out of me.
OMG, this is amazing. I love how into the audio tracks that guy is. I mean, HE STANDS UP TO CHEER HIMSELF. What a great way to start the morning. Stupid question: why don’t the puzzle pieces fit together?
Thanks for this. I just celebrated a birthday, too-I don’t think they ever get easier, eh? On the bright side, you are awesome and it was a pleasure to stop by here today. And go mom with the hot yoga!
XOXO
When that stumping day comes,do not fear. At least we have Google. Can you imagine how awful it was for our poor parents?
I can’t think of a better way to start the day…or eat my breakfast…or go to carpool line…than with a healthy helping of applause and praise. It will be life changing!!
(I have no idea why the puzzle pieces don’t fit together!! I can only guess that the Cheers to You guy is much better at motivation than he is at spacial relationships, the poor dear.)
Hey we can start our own business and compete with them! Or not. This reminds me of Stuart Smalley on SNL doing his life affirmation stuff! HAHA. How you guys find this stuff always amazes me. Hope you’re both having an awesome Saturday!!
He is *so* the CD equivalent of Stuart Smalley. Stuart Smalley is now a US Senator. Think of what the Cheers to You guy can achieve!!
I don’t think having one of the worst days on earth could get me to purchase that CD and play it for myself. Ugh, no. I don’t think so. Feels a little narcissistic. JMHO. Have a blessed day.
You might be right, Vicki. Still…I need to see what it feels like to be cheered on for sitting in a chair. Just once, at least.
That is hilarious! I guess we could all use a little encouragement and positivity in our lives…That’s kinda sad if you think about who might actually purchase that CD. Womp, womp, womp!
I’m hoping that the person who will purchase this is Ashley and it will be fore me! YAY YAY YAY! A girl has to have a dream!
That is something I never would have thought of needing or wanting. The people in the video certainly seem encouraged though. 🙂
They seem SO encouraged, didn’t they? Sometimes the thing you need most of all is something you didn’t even know existed! 😀
Well, I sure feel I could use a little bit of this CD. I wonder if you could play this at night while you’re sleeping. I can’t believe I just wrote this with a straight face. LOL!
I think you could get double benefit from listening while you sleep. A little subliminal messaging could send our self-esteem skyrocketing!! Excellent idea, Kris!
Nothing like a little pep talk. Then again there’s alway Pep Chew chocolate bars. I used to eat them by the toothpull when I was young. Now a days I best refrain - don’t need any more crowns.
Off to order that pep talk number. You guys are the best!
Can you imagine what greatness we will reach with all of this added confidence, Kelly?! I have never heard about Pep Chew…but they sound like something I might need in my self-esteem arsenal. 😀
This is a sad, sad product. What’s even sadder is that people will actually buy it. Lord help us all! LOL
Don’t feel sorry for the CD buyers, Alison! They are full of confidence and swagger now!!
Forget Pinterest, someone actually spent MONEY to make these CDs. WOW.
He sure did, Elaine! And he’s probably raking in the money as we type. But even if he’s not, he is surely feeling uplifted and encouraged!
I’m all for positive affirmation but after listening to that commercial I want to slice my wrists. Is that labeled a side effect to the CD?!
Bwahahahahaha! An over abundance of self confidence is a dangerous thing, Terra! 😀
