We Do Want THIS “Cole” in Our Stocking

We gave up TV.

No, not watching it. We’re still alive. We just gave up writing about it.

We were burned by The Bachelor-and not the kind of burning The Bachelor usually gives you that is easily cured by a strong dose of penicillin. No. This was serious.

The Bachelor overlord and evil dream crusher, Mike Fleiss, didn’t choose Arie as the next Bachelor.

unfair

We were devastated. We took time off to lick our wounds (and watched the Arie kissing video about 100 times). We vowed NEVER to get so involved in a TV show again.

Until now.

You see, although we haven’t been writing about our latest TV obsession, we are totally caught up in its spell, and we don’t care who knows it!

It’s THE VOICE!

Yes, we’ve written about The Voice many times before, but this time is special. This time we are *really* smitten.

No, we’re not taken with a new animal Cee Lo has brought to the table. This season his wrangler must be on vacay because we’ve seen nary a beast in his lap or on his shoulder. (Although his stylist has been on a roll. His ensemble for the last episode had an Emperor Palpatine meets Zorro flair done exclusively in black leather. It was fantastic.)

It’s not with Christina, although she seems to be remembering to wear crotch covering separates now more than in any previous season. She’s even made a real effort to be NICE to the contestants. It must be killing her.

It’s not even with People Magazine’s reigning “Sexiest Man Alive” Adam, although he continues to bring his soprano voiced enthusiasm to the table (and a current Brylcreem’d hairdo that is bordering on Jimmy Neutron levels of pompadour height).

Best Tweet EVAH

Actual Tweet by our friend Gayle who is @dogmagayle on Twitter. She’s awesome!

It isn’t even that OUR VERY OWN TWITTER HANDLE made it onto the televised broadcast (although that was certainly thrilling)!

Nope!! We are totally Team Blake this season!! More specifically, we absolutely LOVE his honey voiced, unique, guitar playing, uber talented contestant…

We ADORE him.

Originally Cole was on Team Cee Lo. Thank goodness for Cee Lo’s excellent ear because he was the only chair that turned for Cole! Can you imagine?! After the Knock Out Round both Adam and Blake tried to steal him, but Cole chose Blake!

The show has SO much talent this season. We think James Wolpert is absolutely amazing, and we loved Matthew Schuler who went home last week. They were our ultimate, dream Top 3.

But our hearts (and iPod playlists) are dominated by Cole.

His voice is like butter. It’s soulful and gorgeous. Cole sings with so much heart and emotion, it just draws you in. When we finish listening to one of his songs, we want to hit the replay button immediately. We just never get tired on his laid-back take on every single song he does. On top of that, he seems to be a genuinely nice person.

Now, we’d be enchanted by Cole and his beautiful voice even if he had the smooth cheeks of a newborn baby but, we have to admit, we really dig his hirsute look. We’re just nuts about his beard. His beard is so glorious it has its own Twitter account. In fact, @Coles_Beard has over 10 times more Twitter followers than the next most famous beard we know- Uncle Si’s Beard. Those are some powerful hair follicles right there!!

cole's grandma

Cole even has the sweetest Grandmother who is always in the audience to hear her boy sing. She’s always talking with and being supportive to the other contestants’ families, too.

Isn’t she ADORBS?!

If you aren’t watching The Voice this season (But wait…why aren’t you? Don’t you like talent, entertainment, and adorable Meemaws?), you need to be watching for Cole Vosbury. He’s singing tonight for a coveted spot in next week’s Finale. We want our Cole to go ALL THE WAY and win this thing!

So get on the #ColeTrain and join us tonight. We cannot let Cole down. We’ve already been traumatized enough by the fact that Arie isn’t going to be the next Bachelor. (A whole season of Juan Pablo…REALLY, FLEISS? What did we ever do to you? *sob*)

We are totally due for a television win, Santa, and we’ve been so good this year! (okay…we’ve been “good-ish”) A win for Cole Vosbury is exactly the kind of “Cole” we *do* want in our stocking this year!!

Cole in our Stockings

We Do Want THIS “Cole” in Our Stocking — 93 Comments

  1. I adore The Voice, but haven’t watched this season AT ALL. Between Lola & Malone and keeping two blogs going (oh yeah, I write for a cloth diaper blog too…) I don’t have time for much TV. The ONLY show I currently watch is Nashville. BUT, after seeing this I’m going to try to back track a few episodes on Hulu. Go Cole go!

    • I can’t believe you’ve missed this season! The talent has been AMAZING!! It’s a travesty when real life gets in the way of television watching! 😉
You won’t regret it if you see some on Hulu! It will be time well spent!! GO COLE!

  2. I’m so glad I can catch-up on the Voice right here on your blog! My husband and I lose interest after the auditions. I love what you wrote about Christina and being nice to the contestants must be killing her - OMG SO TRUE!!!! She lost a little nastiness with the excess weight!
I cannot believe you got your twitter handle on the show!! SO amazingly cool ladies - truly. You guys are superstars!!!…and I hope you get everything you want for Christmas, including a Cole win:-)

    • The blind auditions are always SO exciting, aren’t they! They are truly a highlight of each season!

We are totally hoping for this Cole in our stocking! Thanks, Allie!! 😀

  3. Sorry ladies, I have (gasp) never watched this one, but love your description of Cole and do agree his grandmother is adorbs! Thanks for sharing and will totally have to try to Youtube him now 🙂

    • You are in for a youtube treat, Janine!! Cole is fantastic! If you watch the official NBC videos you might even spy his grandma! They cut to her during or at the end of all of his songs because she’s so cute!! 🙂

  4. Y’all are AWESOME! Cole is from Shreveport where I live. You can’t turn on the TV or radio without hearing something about him. I LOVE his voice. My 3 favs were Ray, Cole, and James, and now I just have Cole and James. Cole really is a tremendous singer. AMAZING!

    • We’re so glad Shreveport is supporting Cole! Woot! I think I’ve even seen the mayor tweet during the show for him! We really like James, too. I’d love, love, love to see them both in the finale!! Can’t wait for tonight! I’m ready to vote, vote, vote for Cole tonight!!

  5. I’m totally hooked on The Voice! I never watched it before this season, but I can’t get enough of Cee Lo’s crazy wardrobe, Christina’s crazy hair, Blake’s country sensibilities, and, well, Adam. Yeah, Adam. Mmmmm. I wouldn’t mind being under the Sexiest Man Alive either… Oh, you meant your Twitter Handle. Yeah, that’s totally what I meant too.

    • I can’t believe this is your first season!! Welcome aboard!! It’s fantastic, isn’t it?! We can’t get enough. The judges are all adorbs together. Even though Cee Lo and Christina won’t be on next season, don’t worry! Shakira and Usher fit right in and are delightful, too. LOVE this show!!!

  6. First, my condolences on The Bachelor. Clearly the producers didn’t take the kissing video into consideration. I mean, really. How could you not choose Arie after watching that?

I have not watched The Voice yet. This Cole guy sounds pretty interesting. I like his look. And if the Dose Girls recommend him, then it seems like a no-brainer. Thanks for the tip, Girls!

    • We were just beside ourselves, Jennifer. We just wanted Arie as the Bachelor. Was that too much to ask for? We think not!

Cole is awesome and humble and truly talented. He’s the real deal!

    • Bwahahahahaha. RABIA!! I almost choked on my saltine cracker reading that. Hmmmm…yes, maybe we should leave out the beaver references just to be on the safe side!

    • Adam is in fine form on the show, Alexa. You are missing out!! But the cutest of the cute is Cole’s Grandma! 😀

  7. You know me and tv. But I would watch it for you if I wasn’t on soccer practice duty tonight…hmmmm…I wonder if Cole is the reason the other moms “can’t” drive tonight? I think I must hear his voice now. Maybe I can get my family to tape it or whatever it is that you do when you record a show. DO NOT LAUGH! I know, I am pathetic!

    • Hahahahaha. Those other moms are sneaky, Michelle!! Hahahaha. I don’t think they make video tapes anymore, Michelle. 😀 Maybe you can watch the episode on the NBC website!

  8. Not a big fan of tv I think it’s because when I was little I was not allowed to watch tv in the weekdays only on the weekends and my mom kept me so busy on the weekends I rarely watched it so now I will sit and not watch tv for days but I do record my favorite shows like the voice so I can just watch it on my leisure and skip through commercials.

    • The invention of the DVR has been awesome, hasn’t it?! I love being able to watch what I want on my terms. I find it hard to watch live tv now sometimes because I can’t fast forward through the commercials! The only down side for a show like The Voice is that I want to vote…so I do watch this one live!!

  9. I love The Voice! One of the only shows I actually watch, although I do admit to PVRing it so I can fast forward most of it. Hey, time is precious and commercials and critiques are fast forward worthy moments in my world.

I get your love and fascination with Cole by I have to admit I’m a big James Wolpert fan!

I think this years line up is packed with incredible talent and hope to hear many of them in the future.

    • We adore Cole, but we really love James, too!! We are totally on board with him. He’s adorbs…and they are friends! They were so good singing “More Than Words” <3

We totally agree with you! This group is fantastic. They are all SO good. Honestly anyone who wins at this point is totally deserving! How often can you say that?!
      But...
We are still on #TeamCole and hope he takes it...but if he doesn't, I hope it's James!! 😀

  10. Cole’s grandmother is worthy of a post of her own.
Between you and me I am hoping the final two are James and Cole. As for the winner? It has to be Cole. I fear for Grandma’s health if he doesn’t win.

    • Cole’s Grandma is *so* worthy of her own post. She is the cutest thing that ever cuted. A finale of James and Cole? WE ARE ALL IN WITH THAT PLAN!! It does have to be Cole for the win…for all our sakes, Kelly! 😀

  11. My kids and husband love this show, it’s usually “background noise” for me while I do other things. I’ll let them know to let me know when he is on…now I’m dying to know what he sounds like.

    • YES!! So glad there are Voice fans at your house! Hope you get a chance to hear Cole tonight! I’m sure you won’t be disappointed in what you hear! 🙂

  12. Okay so I don’t watch. . .I know, I know- my life has no meaning! But if it makes you feel better I don’t watch ANYTHING consistently on t.v. I never remember when anything comes on and when I do it seems my kids take over my t.v. I did click on the link and you’re right, his voice IS like butter! LOL! I want him to win just for the simple fact their you ladies are so excited about him! :-)) Go COLE!!!

    • All you need is to hear him once to love him!! 🙂

Yay!! We have another #TeamCole member! You’re the best, Tracie! 🙂

  13. Ya’ll are the greatest two women around. I must confess, I’ve never watched the Voice or ever wanted to. But, your enthusiasm for this Cole is almost infectious. Thanks so much for keeping up with my blog while I was down without a computer for so many days. I now have a brand new MacBook Air on my lap as a lounge in my Sleep Number bed. Recovery has never felt so much comfort and portability. I got it all. Except the refrigerator is too far away. heehee

    • So glad you are doing well, Vicki! New MacBook Air!! That is awesome. I bet it’s as wonderful as we’re always hearing! Who needs TV when you’ve got that awesome computer to keep you busy?!

    • They really do, Crystal! It’s the best singing show out there! There is another new show that is premiering after The Voice tonight with a cappella groups. It is a show that used to be on a few years ago, but it’s back. I can’t remember the name, but it may have promise, too!

  14. I literally turned my TV on for the first time in over a week last night, and watched one show and tried to watch a part of a movie. I was bored to death. My TV is holding less appeal with each passing day. If it wasn’t used for video games and movies, my 73 inch TV would be nothing more than a dust collector. I don’t get wrapped up in shows like I use too since I started I’ve been busy really digging in and making money from home.

    • How can that be, Crystal?! We couldn’t survive without our TV shows! They are our version of a “hobby”. (or obsession…take your pick)

  15. Loved the Voice last year, sorry couldn’t watch it this year once CEE LO came back the guy gives me major creepage, if that’s even a word, well it should be.

    • We really enjoyed last season’s crew. We absolutely fell in love with Shakira whom neither of us really knew much about before. We still love original recipe Voice, though!

  16. I’m sorry that I have to disagree with the Dose Girls.

    1. I thought Arie was sleazy and am glad he wasn’t picked. (sorry, he just didn’t do it for me! Maybe ’cause I’m old?)

    2. I think Pablo has possibilities.

    3. Cole would not be my favorite, although I agree he has talent.

    4. I’m sorry if this has put me on the Dose Girls’ blacklist, ’cause I really love you two.

  17. Time for me to catch up! I am totally ready to board the #ColeTrain. Wow, that sounds dirty. I swear, adorable grandmother of Cole, I would never mean it as such!
And Christine being nice??? This, I have to see.

    • Hahahahaha. You know…it totally does sound a little forward, Tamara. I hope Cole’s Grandmother forgives us all! ;D

  18. Curse me now but I actually haven’t watched The Voice. I have a good excuse though—I don’t have cable hooked up! The last singing competition show I watched was American Idol. I know, that was so 2010. Everyone around me loves the Voice though so you are definitely not alone!

    • We used to be Idol girls, but we haven’t been ever since The Voice began. We love it so much more. You just can’t beat it! I wonder how much more we’d get done if we didn’t have cable…probably A LOT!! 😀

  19. I am ashamed to say that I haven’t even watch one whole show this season. As a former fan of American Idol, I feel a bit burned out. From what I have seen, The Voice is soooooo much better than Idol.

    • We think it really is, Kristina. There is no contest! I’m so sorry you’ve missed this season! It has been one of the best in recent memory…and we thought last season couldn’t be eclipsed! It’s been AWESOME! It’s not too late to start now!!

  20. I admit, I don’t watch The Voice. I just can’t get into it and a lot of music that is sung is not for me. Also, Adam Levine bothers me.

I do watch a lot of other reality shows though!

  21. I have never watched the Voice (can we still be friends?), but if you are this excited about Cole, I will be, too.

Go Cole! I hope you win….whatever it is you win on the Voice.

    • Hahahahahaha. You know what, Tracie, despite watching every single episode of every single season…we have NO IDEA what the winner wins! Whatever it is, we hope it goes to Cole!! 😀

  22. I enjoy the voice but haven’t been over to watch it after Keaira lashae was eliminated. She’s a fitness guru on YouTube who has helped me get in shape..anywho, I will watch because of you ladies..

    I’m getting on the #Coletrain.

    xoxo,
    KG

    • OMG!! We LOVED Keaira! She was on Team Cee Lo, right? She sang “Killing Me Softly” in her blind audition. What talent! I had no idea she was a fitness guru, too!

We totally have room for you on The #ColeTrain, Khloe!!

  23. OH see I get so irritated at The Voice. Mainly because it was designed for talent that may not get a chance elsewhere and the second season the girl who won had GRAMMIES already from a band she was in, but she wanted to go solo. Sorry that wasn’t cool in my book. I think if they have recorded with any noteriety in any genre they don’t get to go again.. stomps foot. But I am always Team Blake when I do watch. Although that boy who did Hallelujuah just killed my soul. So flipping beautiful.. so I will watch and vote for Cole

    • Matthew was SO GOOD on Hallelujah! We LOVE that performance!!

Blake is just one of a kind. He’s so funny and so genuine. He just cracks us up. He’s the best. We’re so glad that Cole is on his team and that you are now aboard the #ColeTrain! Whoo Hoo!!

  24. No time for commenting. If I don’t get up NOW and DVR it I will never see this guy who at first I really thought by the picture was one of the sons on Duck Dynasty. Sorry Cole…I’m sure you sing like an angel, but one with a lot of hair. To.The.TV.Now.

    • Being compared to the Duck Dynasty crew is a compliment, Stacey. Cole and his beard would fit right in!! I can’t wait to see what you think when you see him!! Bet you’ll love him!! 😀

  25. Life has been so crazy over here that I am so behind on my shows. My DVR has been clogged and shows are deleting themselves faster than I can watch them. I was a big fan of Cole’s before the chaos dragged me under and now can’t wait to lock myself in my room to catch up.

    • I hope the back epi’s of The Voice didn’t get deleted! You can still catch up!! You’ll SO enjoy it!! So glad you’re a charter member of the #ColeTrain!

  26. NBC blocked that youtube video - darn it. I love how enthusiastic you lades get about your reality show competitions. My kids are excited that The Sing Off starts tonight, so we’ll be tuning into that. But let me know if I need to tweet or vote so your Cole can win.

    • Thank you so much for letting us know about the link! I’ve switched it out for one that works. GAH!

I’m super excited for The Sing Off too!! It’s like Pitch Perfect come to life!!

Tonight is the night to vote for Cole for the finals! You can vote right on the NBC website! You rock, Dana! Whoo Hoo!!

  27. Love, love, love The Voice. Cee Lo never disappoints with his fashion ensembles. I love Cole and his soulful eyes. However the beard needs to go. I love his voice as well, but I have to admit. I’m with team Adam this year. I have a soft spot for Will. I also wouldn’t underestimate Jacquie Lee. (sp?)

    • Cee Lo is always bringing something to the table. No body does it better!! Cole does have very beautiful eyes. I’m just going to ignore that beard comment. We can’t imagine Cole without his beard! (plus we’re friends with Cole’s Beard on Twitter. We cannot plot it’s demise)
They are all so talented this year. Anyone of them could take it! (But we have all our crossables crossed for Cole!)

  28. I can’t believe I missed your moment of shame (I mean FAME) when you were BOTH under that sexy man at the same time.

    sigh…..

    • Hahahahahahahaha! It was a very squee-able moment for the Dose Girls, that’s for sure.
To be honest…we didn’t see it that night actually on the TV! We were too busy tweeting or something!! Cole’s Beard got a screen shot and then tweeted it to us and Gayle. Cole’s Beard looks out for it’s friends! No wonder we adore Cole (and the beard!!)

  29. I’ve actually never watched The Voice! I used to love American Idol but they messed with the formula too much and it just isn’t the same anymore. 🙁

  30. I hate to admit this but I’ve never seen the Voice, sorry! But I love your post and I really hope you get what you want in your stocking. Who can resist a guy with a cute grandma?! xo

  31. I haven’t watched The Voice (lame, I know!). I’m excited about the Sing-Off!!
And - did I miss the start of The Bachelor?! Juan Pablo - really?! Perfect show for treadmill runs!!!

    • Oh, Kim! You’re missing out!! We’re excited about Sing Off too!!
The Bach isn’t back on until 2014. You haven’t missed it at all…but we will miss Arie! *sob*

  32. I’ve only watched bits and pieces of the Voice this season because you Monday Night Football is on. It would be awesome is Team Blake got a 4-peat!

  33. This is the first season I’ve watched The Voice and I am hooked! I used to be an avid fan of American Idol but that show jumped the shark several seasons ago. I don’t have a favorite contestant - they are all unbelievably talented. It would be pretty amazing if Blake with one contestant lest were to defeat Adam with three contestants left!

    • So glad you are loving The Voice, Mo!! YAY!! They all are so talented this season. It’s amazing. We would LOVE if Cole could pull it out for #TeamBlake this season! GO COLE!

  34. I don’t watch The Voice but I can totally relate to getting sucked into a TV show (Modern Family, Scandal, I could go on and on!). I like to save them up and watch them back to back!

    • Our problem is that we are sucked into those shows, too. We recently made a list of shows we watch and it read like the TV guide. *embarrassing*

  35. I won’t lie I don’t even watch the show but I am a huge fan of Tessanne!! Because she is from my country 🙂 My whole family is rooting for her as you can imagine. I am looking forward to the next bachelor. The last one was just too juicy to deny. I agree with Kim, perfect workout TV!

    • Tessanne is amazing, Nellie. Her Top 5 performance of “Bridge Over Troubled Water” was breathtaking. Plus, she’s absolutely adorable.
We were planning on boycotting The Bachelor for its lack of Arie…but we read a preview of the group of “ladies” that Juan Pablo has to choose from. They seem suitably insane so…we’re back in.

  36. I’ve never watched The Voice, but I think my mom used to watch it. I’ll have to as her if she still watches it. I sure hope your guy wins!

  37. Okay, so yeah I don’t watch The Voice. I think I was turned off from the moment I saw Christina Agulera was a part of it. But I’ll definitely have to YouTube some videos of Cole just to hear him sing!

    • Christina isn’t our cup of tea exactly, but the way the coaches interact together is part of what makes the show so good. Have fun on YouTube watching Cole!

  38. You two are so passionate about these things you almost make me want to take up tv watching. Almost.

I think if I do watch it would be just to see Cole’s grandma. That’s all out grandma love going on there!

    • She is seriously the cutest thing I’ve ever seen. If he makes the finals, I know she will be on hand to cheer Cole on. It will be totes adorbs. She will melt your heart!!

  39. Funny- I thought this post was going to be about cole in your stocking… but seriously, I don’t watch the voice, and I KNOW I should!! Good Lord, I have barely any time to watch anything…

I squeeze in some of my fave sitcoms that I dvr, but no voice. SO sorry!! But I just KNOW that if you love Cold, I vote COLE!!!!! 🙂

    • You are missing out, Chris! We are so sad! But just knowing you would vote for Cole if you watched, makes us happy! 😀
