Turn Around Bright Eyes

We don’t often promise you that we will give you something that will make you laugh out loud. That is just too much pressure on us, quite frankly. Maybe you are having a bad day, and laughter is the LAST thing on your mind.

Sure, it is our goal to make you giggle, but we don’t guarantee it.

Today is different.

We feel so confident that you will find this funny that we almost called this post, “Out Loud Laughter WILL Occur”.

Anyone who knows anything about music knows that the 80’s brought utter goodness to both the lyrics and the videos of the songs produced back then.

However, even knowing the genius of the 80’s for its musical magic, nothing could have prepared us for this video.

Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, let us present to you the *literal* version of Total Eclipse of the Heart by Bonnie Tyler.

You’re welcome America.

  1. All I can really say is THANK YOU!!! I needed that. Where do you ladies find this stuff??? OMG!! I’ll be watching that all.day.long.
    “Douchebags”
“You shouldn’t fence at night, you’ll hurt the gymnasts.”
    “Arthur Fonzarelli’s been cloned!”
I mean, really? So much awesomeness!

    • We have honestly watched it like 100 times already. The fencing at night made me cry with laughter, and Lisa loved the Arthur Fonzarelli part! 🙂

  2. OMG!!!! The funniest thing I’ve seen, I think I may have just peed my pants! (not really, okay maybe, wait, I am okay, I think) that was freaking hilarious!!! I had just woken up, check my email, saw there was a new Dose post, so, of course, I had to come check it out, I LOVE it!!!! must share it everywhere!!! Happy Tuesday!

    • So glad it delivered the laugh we were hoping it would Amber! 🙂 And hey, if pee in your pants laughter is wrong, then we don’t want to be right! 😉

  3. Somehow I had never seen the video until today, and this has to be the best introduction to it! Wow, that is just about the most nonsensical music video, and revised lyrics were awesome. Yay, for crazy 80s music videos that make no sense!

  4. Just need to say THANK YOU ladies, seriously I have a long day ahead of me today (husband and kids are home all day with Election Day) and I so needed this. Seriously thank you a million times over!! 🙂

  5. Okay. I.Am.Dying. This was my all time favorite song. I loved all things Total Eclipse of the Heart and now, I am frightened. Did I really never notice that there were dancing ninjas? And was fencing big at that time? You did not fail. I was laughing out loud and what’s even better is that the rest of my family was looking on and came to see what I was laughing at and then they were frightened and asked, “What are you watching?” I might have to watch this again if the day goes south because it is that funny.

    • Oh yeah, we watch it multiple times a day when necessary! I guess I never really payed enough attention to the original video, but I have always loved this song, too! 🙂

  6. Lmbo and you know the other day I was watching a scary movie and this song came in my mind I was like turn around….turn around and started to sing the song

  7. OMG - have never seen this one - loved that song way back when, but this is amazing! Loved “blind possessed choir boys” and “mullet with headlights.” Seriously - laugh-out-loud funny (at work)! And to watch this makes you question if Bonnie Tyler actually knew what she was singing about?! Or the producers of the video clearly had a different interpretation of that song! Guess I should have done the drugs! LOL

  8. Okay, my stupid work computer won’t let me watch it but I’ve seen it before and omigoodness it’s so freaking hilarious! Have you seen any of the other literal videos? Too funny (most of them). Thanks, ladies.

And for the record, I do usually laugh when I read your posts…but you sure know how to get serious, too!

    • This was the first and only one we had seen Heather, but we will definitely be checking out the rest of them FOR SURE!! 🙂

  9. Funniest video ever. Even though I was duly warned, I took a gulp of coffee just before the fencer said “Gold dust in my fancy mask” and nearly sent a spray of coffee all over my kitchen. Thanks for a laughing-til-I-cry start to the day!

  10. I was okay until flipped me the bird. I can’t watch anymore. The tears and laughter will ruin my makeup and I’m at work. Oh, gosh. I’m not going to be able to concentrate now.

    • We totally understand Carli! Hopefully you can treat yourself to a full-on makeup running laugh fest when you get home! 😉

  11. I had to wait all day to watch this because my company’s IT filter blocked the video. Perfect way to end my day!! I bow down to the Dose Girls! Thank you, thank you!

    • What is wrong with your office? They just don’t want their employees having any fun, do they? You should probably protest! 😉

  12. OMG my and my friend Renee have just cracked up at this.. This is to pay me back for making you cry earlier isn’t it??

    • I feel the same way…I will never hear the song the same way again, but I don’t even care because I love this so much! 🙂

  13. Oh. My. Goodness. That is AWESOME! That seriously is laugh out loud funny. I was sitting on the couch watching this, and my husband was looking at me like, “Who the heck literally laughs out loud about stuff on the Internet anymore?” I just told him he didn’t understand.

    • Did you make him watch it? My hubby, who prides himself on laughing at nothing I think is funny, did honestly laugh out loud at this! 🙂

  14. OMG, I was laughing so hard that the husband just shushed me. I can’t decide which part was best…but the flying choir boy may just have to be it.

  15. Man, I had a crappy day today. I owe you ladies HUGE for ending my day with a big laugh. That was the BEST! xo

  16. Beyond funny! The level of creativity is great. Too many hilarious parts to single out one. I will definitely be looking at this again and sharing it.

    • We feel like we need a video of the lyrical solo Adrienne…you know, for the blog! 😉 So glad you enjoyed this! 🙂

  17. ‘What the effing crap
that angel guy just felt me up!’

    Best line in a song…EVER!!

I can’t thank you enough for sharing this. I’ve been suffering from depression today and this actually helped a lot.
